Police in Kohat seize 1,100kg of explosives

KOHAT:?Police in Kohat arrested two suspects and seized their explosive laden vehicle on Saturday.

According to?Express 24/7 correspondent, Umar Farooq the vehicle, a blue pickup truck bearing the number plate J-1019, was carrying 1,100 kilogramme of explosive material.

The suspects, who have been moved to an unknown location, were arrested after the vehicle was stopped at a checkpost.

Khalid Umerzai, commissioner in Kohat, said that the vehicle as headed to Orakzai Agency. He said that security was already on high alert and more information on the suspects would be revealed after interrogation.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and the bomb disposal squad has also moved in to check the vehicle.

Terror had earlier struck Kohat when at least 18 people were killed and another 32 injured on December 9, after a suicide bomber blew himself up at a bus stand in the district.
