ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Youssef Raza Gilan reiterated that it was not necessary to send the army in Karachi to put an end to the wave of violence.

"No decision has been taken to send the army in Karachi," Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said to journalists in the capital, Islamabad today (Wednesday).

"I am confident that political leaders will be able to control the situation in Karachi", he added.

Tuesday, the Minister of State for ports and shipping Nabil Gabol called for troops to be deployed in Karachi, accusing the local Government does not impose the law and order.

"It was his personal opinion," Gilani says.

Police chief city Fayyaz Leghari said media that "it is now difficult to all groups on involvement in the killings, but I can say one thing - it's a conspiracy to destabilize Karachi". ""
